White belts are on perpetual quests to destroy themselves and/or others. They're basically Kakihara from Ichi The Killer. It is the duty of higher belts that we subject them to the Gom Jabbar of continued but controlled and as gentle as possible tappings that they may perhaps one day become human beings. Male ones are usually worse than female ones.
We don't have that rank in BJJ or Judo but by the time someone's earned their first rank in Judo (six months to a year and a half) or BJJ (a year to three) they've internalized the lesson that cavemanning your way through things is a bad idea and have begun to learn the basic vocabulary of responsibly dismantling a human body. They know how much they don't know, so to speak.
Nikkyu (second degree brown), US Judo Federation and also USA Judo certified state level coach.
Purple belt, Relson Gracie.
Various other ranks in traditional martial arts that I've forgotten (I was once offered a black belt in "American Jiujitsu" but turned it down due to not knowing to this day what exactly that is).
